Narendra Modi was elected as the leader of both the BJP Parliamentary Party and the NDA. The proposal of making Mr. Modi as the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party came from Amit Shah which was seconded by both Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari.
SAD's Prakash Badal proposed the name of Narendra Modi as the leader of NDA Parliamentary Party. Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and JDU chief Nitish Kumar both endorsed the proposal.
After being elected as the head of the NDA Parliamentary Party, Modi took blessings from party veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi and their Ally, Prakash Singh Badal
